Yesterday KS2 learnt how to help people who are ill or injured. Each class experienced a 90 minute practical workshop session delivered by Reflex First Aid Ltd, our local company. Richard and Heather explained the importance of having some first aid knowledge. The children then practised putting somebody into the recovery position, administering CPR and basic bandaging including making a sling. The children had great fun as well as learning key life skills.
First Aid is not a requirement of the National Curriculum but we strongly feel that you are never too young to have a basic understanding of what to do in an emergency and build it into our science scheme of work learning about the human body. Thank you to all those families who kindly donated towards the cost of the workshop.
