School Meals
- If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 they are entitled to the UIFSM (universal infant free school meal). Please obtain a form from the school office to enable the school to claim the cost of this back.
- The cost of a school meal for Years 3 & 4 will be £2.90 from 5th September 2023.
- Children in recepit of FSM (Free School Meals) through Pupil Premium will not be charged for meals in years 3 and 4 as long as they remain eligible, but meals will still need to be ordered through ParentPay.
If you are changing from a pre-booked meal to a home pack lunch you will need to remove it from your account the evening before or inform the school office by 9.30am on the day. If the booked meal is not removed, you will still be charged.
Parent Pay
ParentPay is our preferred method of accepting payments and we request that parents order and pay for their child’s school meals online via the ParentPay website. Please contact the school office if you are unable to make online payments and we will discuss alternative options with you.
If you are not currently registered to use this site please contact the school office and we will arrange for an activation code to be sent to you.
If you have more than one child at a ParentPay school/s you can add them to a single account, providing one login for all children at ParentPay schools.
Support and resources for using ParentPay can be found here.
Allergy Advice & Information
Please ensure that eggs (see below letter for more information), peanuts, tree nuts or sesame are not listed in the ingredients of any products that you send into nursery or school, also that there is no warning of ‘may contain traces of eggs/peanuts/tree nuts/sesame’ or ‘manufactured in a facility that handles peanuts/tree nuts’. Examples of tree nuts are almonds, pecans, walnuts, cashews etc. The warning may vary between manufacturers but they will identify if there is a risk that the food product contains known allergens. If there is no warning on the ingredients label and the above allergens are not listed then you may send the food item for your child.
Snacks
Please could we ask that you consider carefully what you send into school with your child for their mid-morning snacks. We would encourage you to send in prepared fruit or vegetables but do understand that for some children this is not enough to fill them up until lunchtime, so you are also welcome to send in items that are healthy choices eg a small sandwich with a savoury filling or similar. We do plan to create a formal Snack Policy as many other schools have, but this is something that needs looking into fully and until then we just ask that you send in healthy snacks.
